From our clients...

Jake was awesome! He kept everything running on schedule and made sure we could enjoy our special day without worrying about running the party. I'd highly recommend him for anyone in need of a day-of coordinator.
- Patrick; Day of Coordination
Jake is professional, creative, innovative, punctual, has excellent intuition and common sense. He knows what you need before you even have to ask and takes care of the details without you even knowing it. All of this contributes to a seamless day where you don't have to worry about who's where and when things will be happening. He's a natural with a ton of talent. Book with Functions and Gatherings!! You will remember the important things (the meaning of your wedding and the people who attended) rather than what went wrong or could have been better. You couldn't have a better planner who knows when to have fun, and when to get sh$@ done.
- Josh; Consultation & Day of Coordination
Jake did an incredible job for us! Our wedding took place on May 18th 2018 at Black Diamond Gardens. I can tell you right off the bat he is a lifesaver. Very nice and very easy to work with. Jake thought of things that we had not even thought of. Everyone in our wedding party also had great complements to give him. Very very professional and always on top of the schedule. I highly recommend his services as he will make your wedding special like he did ours.
- Joseph; Day of Coordination
Everything ran so smoothly, he never lost focus, and I really didn't have to worry about anything. Even my photographer commented that it was the only wedding he's been to that was on schedule! With Jake running the show, I was able to relax and really enjoy my special day.
- Aishley; Day of Coordination
My mother was extremely concerned about the day running on time (she really dislikes late weddings) and boy, did it! Jake kept everything running smooth, took care of the last minute details I was bridezilla-ing about, and even delivered leftover cake to my husband and I at the end of the night to enjoy (since we didn't get any at the reception)!

Jake Taylor
I started Functions and Gatherings for two reasons. Number one: One of my personal goals is to just do really gay shit all the time. Number two: Queer weddings get treated as a service when they're really just like any other wedding. Most wedding planners just don't know what to do if there's not a "bride" and "groom." So many wedding traditions are based in misogynistic, heteronormative values and my dream is to break that down to create new rituals and traditions void of gendered language and stereotyping to celebrate each partnership's uniqueness.
A little bit more about me, personally! I'm a native to the Seattle area and currently live in Queen Anne with my partner Max and cat Herman. My favorite color is glitter. I spend most of my time not conforming to gender roles and searching for vegan ice cream. I like to have fun and am often not afraid to say what everyone may be thinking. As much as I love to have fun when I'm working, I also like getting shit done! I've worked in customer service and events for almost a decade. I attended South Seattle Community College and studied Catering and Banquet Operations. I recently completed Wedding and Event Planning and Event Decor certification courses from QC Event Planning School. I'm looking forward to working with you!
